My Most Anticipated Books of 2019

2019 is looking pretty good so far with a long list of books to be looking forward to. Here are my top ten most anticipated books, with some of my favourite authors like Sarah J. Maas, Cassandra Clare and Tahereh Mafi among them. #10 Maybe This Time by Kasie West One year. Nine events. Nine chances to . . . fall in love? Weddings. Funerals. Barbecues. New Year's Eve parties. Name the occasion, and Sophie Evans will be there. Well, she has to be there. Sophie works for the local florist, so she can be found at every big event in her small hometown, arranging bouquets and managing family dramas. Enter Andrew Hart. The son of the fancy new chef in town, Andrew is suddenly required to attend all the same events as Sophie. Entitled, arrogant, preppy Andrew. Sophie just wants to get her job done and finish up her sketches so she can apply to design school. But every time she turns around, there is Andrew, getting in her way and making her life more complicated. Until one day she wonders...

Books Read in 2018

Hi fellow bookworms! I still love books and am very passionate about reading. In the past year I just didn't find the time to sit down and concentrate on composing a new blog post. So I'm glad to change that now! Overall 2018 was a very challenging and emotional year and I am more than thankful for all the books that brought me joy. Here is the record of a fabulous reading year. Here are the 57 books of 50 books I challenged myself to read. Among them was the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas which I had been avoiding until 2018 and which just blew my mind! What an amazing universe! I'm hoping for more YA gems in 2019 and will be sharing my most anticipated books of this year as well as a few pictures of my trips to Japan and Scotland soon. Happy New Year 2019!   January Into the Bright Unknown by Rae Carson 3/5 stars First & Then by Emma Mills 4/5 stars   Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West 5/5 stars JANUARY FAVOURITE February Turtles All the Way Down b...

Frankfurt Book Fair 2017

A big book event finally brings me back to blogging! I had a fantastic time at this year's Frankfurt Book Fair and the least I can do is thank all the fabulous bookish people I met with this short recap. I spent three days in Frankfurt, Friday till Sunday, instead of only two days on the busy weekend and it was definitely worth it. The extra day bought me some free time to explore the city. France as Guest of Honour brought a special light show to Frankfurt's city hall and many people gathered in the evening to catch the pretty spectacle. On Saturday the lovely Ulrike from Penguin Random House UK invited a few bloggers over for a blogger meeting, which was my personal highlight of Frankfurt this year! She was as thrilled about the upcoming Penguin titles as we were and brought us the best gift a blogger could ask for: fresh from the press copies of one of the most anticipated books this year: Turtles All the Way Down by John Green!!! Insert massive fangirl moment here and all...

Mini Reviews #32

Today I've got a small selection of some of my last summer reads. If you haven't read them already I can definitely recommend you pick up a copy of Catherine Clark and Robin Constantine's latest books! Eleven Things I Promised by Catherine Clark Seventeen-year-old Frances sets out on a bike race with friends from her high school to do every item on a special list dedicated to reconnecting with her best friend. Sounds unusual, right? I was surprised by the pitch of such an original YA story and certainly wasn't disappointed in the end. Frances was such a sensitive, strong and determined protagonist whose love and dedication to her best friends shine through even more brightly in the hardest moments of her trip. Considering she isn't even trained to go on that bike race one could consider her a lunatic, but couldn't she also be considered a hero? As the group around the racers grows closer together the further they go, the reader can't resist being drawn in...

Book Review: Hold Back The Stars by Katie Khan

Publisher: Doubleday Publishing Date: January 26th 2017 Length: 304 pages Keywords: space adventure, sci-fi, romance  Source: Publisher Carys and Max have ninety minutes of air left. None of this was supposed to happen. But perhaps this doesn’t need to be the end… Adrift in space with nothing to hold on to but each other, Carys and Max can’t help but look back at the well-ordered world they have left behind – at the rules they couldn’t reconcile themselves to, and a life to which they might now never return. For in a world where love is banned, what happens when you find it? SPACE ADVENTURE GALORE HOLD BACK THE STARS was among the first books I read this year and if this one book set the course for my reading year I should expect some more glorious reading experiences coming my way. I've read a bunch of brilliant space adventures including THESE BROKEN STARS, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE and ILLUMINAE and Katie Khan's new book certainly deserves its spot beside those on my list ...

Happy Reading! #10 Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray Noemi Vidal is a teen soldier from the planet Genesis, once a colony of Earth that's now at war for its independence.
